We have specific in-house standards and methodologies for software development projects. Can you accommodate them?
Absolutely. Apps N Stuff is as dedicated to customer service as it is to completing the project on time and on budget. We will accommodate whatever standards and methodologies your organization requires.
We have concerns about the ownership of intellectual property rights and the rights to the source code. What is your position?
We believe that all IP rights to the source code, branding, and everything else belong to the client. As soon as the last installment has been completed and the last payment made, we will turn over everything to you.
What do I do if I don’t have any technology knowledge or expertise?
Relax. That’s what our Hybrid model was designed for. As long as you know what you want to accomplish with your project, our Business Analysts and Technical Business Consultants can analyze your current businesses practices and determine how to get from where you were to where you want to be. We’ll put that together in a document that defines the scope and objectives of the project. From there we’ll recommend a hiring plan that fits your needs and if you agree, we can begin the development process.
We have already documented the project scope and defined the requirements for our project. What’s the next step?
That’s fantastic. If you fill out the Quote Request form, we’ll take a look at what you have and get back to you with a quote within 48 hours.
I’m concerned that some of the people might not be suitable for my project. Can I interview each candidate?
Of course. With our specialized hiring service model, you build your own team, so you can interview and evaluate the skills of the programmers who will be working on your project. Regardless, you’ll be provided with each developer’s resume so you’ll know all about their expertise and experience.
What can you tell me about your Quality Control Methodology?
We use a black box methodology that secures IP rights while allowing our QA and QC departments to full test everything before we deliver it. That includes functionality testing, but also system, unit, and integration testing. We won’t deliver anything until it passes every test.
Will I have to share developer time with other projects?
Of course not. The developer you hire will act as any other regular employee, working full eight-hour days, five days a week on your project alone.
Can your resources be on site for project startup?
Yes. If the project requires it and the resources are available, we’d be delighted to send them to your site for startup. If that proves infeasible, we may send someone from our corporate office.
How do your pricing models work?
We have three pricing models—Fixed, Time and Material, and Dedicated Resources—that are designed to provide you with the resources you need at a price you can afford.
We have concerns about having a project development team off site. How is communication handled?
Most communication is handled through e-mail as it provides an excellent document trail. In addition, your team will be available by Instant Messaging, and by phone.
What are your reporting processes like?
Reporting procedures are entirely up to you. Generally, we report on a daily or weekly basis via e-mail, but if you’d prefer another mechanism, just let us know.
What if I want to change pricing models?
If you have chosen the Time and Material or Dedicated Resources models, switching from one to the other is relatively easy—we simply write a new contract instead of renewing the old one. The Fixed model is less flexible.
What if I want to change the scope of the project before it is completed?
If you have selected the Time and Material or Dedicated Resource models, this is relatively easy. With the Fixed model, a scope change will require a re-evaluation of the cost of the project.
How can I monitor the progress of the project?
We will provide regular updates on the progress of the project that includes an executive summary view of the project as a whole. In addition, you can be in constant contact with the development team. If you prefer another reporting method, simply let us know and we’ll accommodate if possible.
What if our project requires a technology you are not familiar with?
Our resources are constantly training and certifying in new technologies, so it’s unlikely that you will need expertise that we don’t already offer. However, if it does happen, we will either train current resources or hire additional resources to meet the demand.
No matter what, our standards for new technologies are as exacting as they are for more tried and true technologies.
